    cooked eggsThe egg has gotten such a bad rap in the last ten years. Numerous studies have villified this poor protein packed guy stating that he caused high cholesterol and heart disease. In fact, the studies were so convincing that many have either stopped eating eggs altogether or limiting themselves to one or two a week. By replacing these egg breakfasts with egg substitutes or (gasp) sugar laden cereals, you may be depriving your body of essential nutrients it needs.

This study provided scientific data that fast food is as addictive as heroin or cocaine. Given this startling conclusion, you would think that the food industry would be looking for healthier alternatives to their fat and sugar laden offerings but the opposite appears to be true and there's actually a science to keeping us fat and happy.

    Yes, fast food is addictive. I could stop the article right here and you would say, "Yes! I knew it." As someone who can attest to digging around for change in my car seat cushions so I could Super Size my drive-thru order, I would have to agree. And I'm happy (?) to say that science has finally proven that fast food is indeed addictive.

    We've all seen the data on drug addiction and how it affects our brains. Who can forget that infamous 1980's public service announcement? This is drugs. (insert photo of egg in frying pan) This is your brain on drugs. Pretty scary stuff. We didn't want our brain to get all messed up because of drugs. Little did we know that making a run for the border instead of heading behind the bleachers during lunch period would be just as addictive to our poor brains!

Light therapy is a great way to break out of the weather doldrums and give your energy a boost. Sunshine and daylight both a positive effect on us by improving our mood and easing depression.
